TownPixx is quite easy if you have the "right tools." To access any website...just click on the logo or name listed in the directory. There are a few things you need, or need to know, if you experience trouble. These may very depending on your browser.
Q. Why is nothing happening when I click on a logo? A. This is most likely because of your brower's pop-up blocker. You may choose to disable pop-up blocking for the duration of your session, or you can enable your pop-up blocker to accept pop-ups from Townpixx.com. -- see instructions
Q. I know that my ad with Townpixx was posted, but I why can't I see it? A. This is because of your temporary internet files, aka "cache". In order to save your browser download time, temporary files are saved onto your computer to be retrieved in the future. This may cause you to see an older version of what's on the Townpixx site. The townpixx website is designed so that you will automatically download the newest files every 24 hours. However if you would like to clear your temporary internet cache, see instructions here.
Q. Why are there graphics and/or text missing? A. The majority flash sites on the web are optimized for Flash 8.0. (current version is 9) If you find that your flash player is not rendering correctly, just simply download the latest version of Macromedia Flash.
Q. Why isn't my back button working? I can't get back to Townpixx.com when I go to an advertiser's website. A. If you're not familiar with "tabs", Netscape, Opera, and Firefox have what are called tabs. Instead of opening a new window if you click on a link, it will open the linked page in the same window, in a new tab. This gives you the option of switching back and forth between the two pages without having to switch windows. (tabs are located between the actual webpage, and the address bar, sometimes not viewable if you only have one tabbed website open).
To disable tabs:
Opera: go to TOOLS > PREFERENCES > click on the ADVANCED tab, click the box for "Open windows instead of tabs".
Firefox: go to TOOLS > OPTIONS > click on "TABS", under "Open links from another application", click on "a new window"
Netscape: go to TOOLS > OPTIONS > click on "Tabbed Browsing", under "Open links from another application", click on "a new window"
